SEWA (Self Employed Women's Association) is India's largest Trade Union founded specifically for women. SEWA is committed to strengthening the power of women in the informal economy, through capacity building, vocational training, healthcare and microfinance.

Since 2008, the Trust has funded a SEWA project in Bareilly, 255km from Delhi, to improve the lives of women who make a living from embroidery. From 2010, we are funding two SEWA centres in Delhi including a Monsoon/SEWA Centre of Excellence in Embroidery. This will bring together our collective experience to re-invigorate a traditional craft while helping women to make a sustainable livelihood.
Monsoon Accessorize is already putting orders through the SEWA centres in Delhi and we hope this will grow with the launch of our 'Global Craft' fairly traded brand.
